The Special Olympics World Games, the world’s largest inclusive sports event, in which thousands of athletes with mental and multiple disabilities compete in 26 sports, took place in June 2023 in Berlin and thus for the first time in Germany. Under the motto #UnbeatableTogether, an international, colorful festival of sports was celebrated for more recognition and social participation of people with intellectual disabilities.
